Calathea ornata (also called variously striped, pin-stripe, or pin-stripe calathea) is a species of perennial plant in the family known as the prayer plants. It is native to South America (Colombia, Venezuela), and is cultivated in temperate countries as a houseplant.

Maintenance
Light requirements: He’ll be fine in fairly low light, but you’ll see more colourful growth if you give him lots of light.
Water Required: In warm months, water it when the top two inches of soil feel dry (about once a week). He needs less in winter.
Soil Required: Plant your triostar in well draining potting mix, place in medium, filtered light and water with purified water to maintain moist but not soggy soil
Temperature Required: temperatures of 18°C to 27°C
